MOUNTAIN HARMONY WITH CAROL DAVIS & FRIENDS - A ROSE FOR MAMA-CCD1003. With this particular collection, North Carolina musician Carol Davis pays tribute to her late mother with a selection of songs she learned in childhood. Boosted by friends and guest pickers like guitarist Tony Rice and banjoist Sammy Shelor, Carol creates 14 stellar performances, including her own "A Rose for Mama," "Dreaming Of A Little Cabin," "Just A Rose Will Do," "Tedious & Tasteless," and others. "Rose for Mama" is a heartfelt offering of musical nostalgia that will instantly stir up memories of mother and home."

"Well,  I’ve listened to the CD a couple of times now and I must say that from the very beginning I loved it.  The more I listen the more I find to like.  Carol, you’ve done some remarkable work here.  I found the production to be perfect, which in my mind means I didn’t notice anything out of place. Plus, I liked the selection of songs.   I’m sure the amount of time and work that went into it was immense, but obviously the results were worth it."

Carol, the wonderful CD was in our box this past Sunday morning when we got to the station at 5:30 AM.  I have now listened to the entire CD and it's simply great!  I shall be playing a couple of cuts off it next week.  Just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed your talent and that of your friends on the CD.
  God bless and thanks bunches."

"G’day Carol...
...It’s projects like yours that keep the ‘roots’ part of roots music alive.  We can all learn to sing songs but your project shows there is a deeper and very personal meaning to the songs.   It’s clear that to you, these songs are more than just music to sing.  They wrap up a lot of your childhood too."...
